How can I watch Celtic TV

Celtic TV is an online streaming service, you can only watch it on a desktop or laptop computer, either PC or Mac, or on an Apple iPad or iPhone (iOS devices must have iOS 11.3 or higher and use Safari) and most modern and up-to-date Android devices, including tablets, and smartphones. Smart TVs and Gaming consoles, including any X-Box and Playstation are not supported by Celtic TV. Celtic TV is NOT available through any freeview or satellite TV services in the UK or any other country.

I run a Celtic Supporters’ club, can the club subscribe to Celtic TV?

If your club is affiliated with the North American Federation of Celtic Supporters Clubs, NAFCSC, you can subscribe for an officially licensed club subscription with the rights to show Celtic TV in your club.  To subscribe to Celtic TV as a supporters club, please register on Celtic TV then email webhelp@celticfc.com with your username and we will send you instructions on how to set up your subscription. This is the only way you can legally show Celtic TV in your club.

What do I get with a Supporters Club Subscription?

You will get full access to Celtic TV for all domestic league matches shown live on Celtic TV at our best streaming bandwidth including our live matches in HD.  UEFA play-off, group stage and knock out rounds will only be available on demand following the matches, normally this will be at 11pm following the match. Domestic cup matches governed by the SFA will be subject to an additional charge, if your club does not wish to show such matches live you will not be charged for them, we will contact you before any of these matches.  Additionally your club will be included on the Club map, currently in development, with your contact details available to promote your club.  We will also keep in contact with your club and if you have any special events we can promote them through the official Celtic social media channels and report on them afterwards.

How can I pay for a club membership?

Club memberships are processed through the Worldpay online payment gateway to process payments, you can set up to pay with a Visa or a Mastercard. You can pay monthly at £100 per month or for the full season in advance at £1000.  Monthly payments will be taken on the 1st of the month.  When additional chargeable matches have been taken these will be taken in addition to the normal monthly charge or for annual prepaid subscriptions these will be taken separately on the 1st of the month.

What do I get on a Premium subscription?

Premium subscriptions offer the highest bandwidth streams available on Celtic TV. With this level of subscription subscribers get to watch live coverage of Celtic’s SPFL matches. Matches in UEFA competitions will not normally be shown live, for these matches a live audio commentary will be provided followed by a full match replay available on demand from 11pm. When possible due to availability of rights or coverage of matches domestic cup matches will be shown live, when not shown live we will provide an audio commentary and if possible a full match replay, this replay is subject to the availability of rights to show the game. Subscribers will also be able to watch exclusive coverage of the club’s media conferences and exclusive interviews and features. All of these are available in the highest bandwidth offered by Celtic TV. Premium subscriptions are only available to subscribers outside the UK, Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.  For live streaming of the HD video feed on Premium we recommend a minimum free bandwidth of 5Mbps with no other software or devices sharing this bandwidth.

What do I get on an Online Plus subscription?

With an Online Plus subscription subscribers get to watch live coverage of Celtic’s SPFL matches. Matches in UEFA competitions will not normally be shown live, for these matches a live audio commentary will be provided followed by a full match replay available on demand from 11pm. When possible due to availability of rights or coverage of matches domestic cup matches will be shown live, when not shown live we will provide an audio commentary and if possible a full match replay, this replay is subject to the availability of rights to show the game. Subscribers will also be able to watch exclusive coverage of the club’s media conferences and exclusive interviews and features. For live streaming of the video feed on Online+ we recommend a minimum free bandwidth of 2.5Mbps with no other software or devices sharing this bandwidth.

What do I get on a Premium UK subscription?

Premium UK subscriptions offer the highest bandwidth streams available on Celtic TV. With this level of subscription subscribers will be able to watch replays of Celtic’s SPFL and UEFA matches following the holdback period, which will be from 10pm to midnight following the match depending on the competition and broadcaster rights. When possible due to availability of rights or coverage of matches domestic cup matches will also have a full match replay available following the holdback period. How do I cancel?

You can cancel your subscription by accessing your account on WorldPay’s shopper site using the username and password they sent you when you first subscribed, click here to go to the Worldpay site. 

If you no longer have these details then send your username for Celtic TV, your Agreement ID from WorldPay and the date you first subscribed to webhelp@celticfc.com and we will assist you. 

What payment methods can I use for Celtic TV?

Celtic TV only accept online card payments from Mastercard, Debit Mastercard,Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron or Maestro through Worldpay. We do not hold any card details or any financial information at Celtic TV, all payments are securely processed by Worldpay.

What is the minimum subscription length?

The minimum subscription length for annual subscriptions is one year and for monthly subscriptions is one month. All subscriptions will automatically recur at the end of their billing period. To avoid making a payment you do not want to you should cancel your subscription before the next payment date shown on your profile.

Is the Premium subscription HD?

HD is available for LIVE matches only at this time as long as you have a Premium subscription outside the UK and Ireland.

How can I watch the live match?

Once you have logged in click on the LIVE MATCH link at the top of the page, if there is no live coverage the link will be NEXT MATCH. When the live video is running, the video begins one hour before the match and after a short delay the video will run. From an hour before the match until the start of the pre-match programme the player will show a holding graphic and play music. The video player uses an adaptive bitrate technology which will always try and give you the highest bitrate stream. If you are having difficulties with watching the live video this way you can still select which of the individual video streams to watch by clicking on the HD button and selecting the bitrate you want, higher numbered bitrates are better quality but may cause buffering, you will need to balance the quality to the amount of buffering. You can return to the adaptive bitrate by selecting auto. 

How can I listen to the live audio commentary?

Once you have logged in click on the LIVE MATCH link at the top of the page. If we are broadcasting the audio will begin automatically after a delay. Our audio programme starts an hour before the start of the match. From an hour before the match until we begin our pre-match show we will be broadcasting music. While listening to live audio the @celticfc twitter feed will be shown on the screen.

How can I watch the match replay?

The match replay will be available to Online Plus and Premium subscribers outside the UK, Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man on the ALL VIDEOS page following the match, usually there will be no hold back period, but for some matches we may have to hold the replay back for all subscribers. The replay will work in exactly the same way as the live match video. For all other subscribers the replay will be available after the holdback period set out by the broadcasters on the ALL VIDEOS page. On the day of the match you will need to click on the timeline to go past the pre-match music and programme to go to the match.

Where do I see media conferences and interviews?

Once you are logged in you should click on the ALL VIDEOS link at the top of the page. This will show the ten most recent videos available on Celtic TV. To watch older media conferences and interviews you should click on the ‘Archive’ link, the five most recent will be shown on the first page though you can select more content by opening the numbered pages at the bottom of the list. If videos from previous seasons are available you will be able to select these by using the down arrow at the side of the year and selecting the year you want to browse. You can also search for videos by clicking on the search button on the ALL VIDEOS page. You should input a word to search for such as a player and any results will be shown for you to click on and watch.

How do I upgrade my subscription level?

When you are logged in, click on the MY Account link in the navigation then on the products tab, select Worldpay as the payment method in the drop down, select your new subscription level, accept the Terms and Conditions then click confirm. You will then be taken to Worldpay to enter your payment details. Once this is completed and you have been returned to Celtic TV you should email webhelp@celticfc.com to let us know you have upgraded so we can calculate any refund owed from your old subscription and have this refunded to your card via Worldpay. Please note we do not keep any financial data at Celtic TV.

What is the Celtic Wall?

The Celtic Wall is a way for subscribers to interact with each other in a fun way during a match, allowing them to express views on the game. Profanity, abusive behaviour and linking to external sites will not be tolerated and may result in a temporary or permanent ban from posting to the wall. The Wall should not be used for requests for technical help.

How do I get technical help?

For technical assistance you should check the FAQs for advice, if you cannot find a solution there you should email webhelp@celticfc.com with your username and a description of the problem. Requests for technical assistance should not be posted to the Wall.

What are the system requirements to view video on Celtic TV?

Viewers should have one of the following browser and Flash versions installed to play video:

PLEASE NOTE - We no longer recommend using Microsoft Edge or Safari for Celtic TV.

 

Mobile (tablet and smartphone)

(iOS)

You should ensure that your iPhone or iPad has the most up to date version of iOS installed and use the default browser, Safari. Some of the features on Celtic TV such as the ability to select the level of stream may not be available on your iOS device.

(Android)

Live streaming to Android devices is not supported by Celtic TV, while you may be able to watch on demand video you are unlikely to be able to watch live video.

I have the correct browser installed but I am getting a warning message telling me I need to upgrade, how do I resolve this?

Some browsers have a compatibility mode to allow them to operate as if they were older versions. You must make sure that you are not running in compatibility mode. Instructions on how to do this can be found in the browser’s help files.

Can I use my mobile device to watch video ondemand on Celtic TV?

Yes, as long as your device meets the current reccomendations.

Can I use my smart TV to watch videos on Celtic TV?

Celtic TV does not support streaming to smart TVs.

Why do video clips sometimes stutter or pause during playback?

Video may stutter or pause during playback if your Internet connection is not fast enough or if your computer has an unusually slow processor or little RAM (memory). Even on broadband connections, Internet congestion or traffic can result in choppy playback or repeated buffering. You can check your actual internet bandwidth by clicking here. This can also be a result of out of date video drivers. 

If you have an nVidia graphics card click here and select option 2 to automatically find drivers.

If you have an ATI or AMD graphics card click here and download the AMD Driver Autodetect tool.

You should also check with the manufacturer of your PC to see if there is a software update for your device.

Why can’t I see any video?

Some corporate networks, firewalls, and ad-blocking software may prevent the player from displaying. Please check with your Network Administrator to ensure that Flash video is permitted on your network. Also, disable any ad-blocking software that might prevent Flash media from loading. You also need to ensure that you are not using a virtual private network, VPN, as this can cause Celtic TVs video stream not to function. You must be using a browser that has JavaScript enabled, most browsers have this enabled as a default. 

Why is the video blocky or pixelated?

This can be a result of out of date video drivers.

The player is displaying a warning that says I need to upgrade the Flash player. How do I upgrade?

The player will display a message that looks like this:

 

Why can’t I see live video, I have the right subscription?

Live video is only available from outside the UK, Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man, if you are outside these areas please visit www.whatismyip.com and email us at webhelp@celticfc.com with the result so we can investigate and resolve the issue.

The player is not displaying correctly or is displaying the wrong video. How can I fix this?

Your web browser may be displaying cached information. To clear your browser cache for the page you’re on, click CTRL + F5 on Windows, or COMMAND + SHIFT + R on Mac OS.

I cannot log in, how do I get my username and password?

You should email webhelp@celticfc.com with your name and we can reset your password for you. If you are not using the email address you registered with we will need to contact you to confirm your details.
